 (250 users with total of around 1000 mails a day)
  • Carrier grade server with UPS.
  • Intel® Pentium® IV Processor or Red Hat Linux compatible equivalent processor
  • 80 GB HDD
  • 512 MB RAM
  • Intel® Xeon® Processor OR
  • Intel Xeon 64 (EMT64) Processor OR
  • AMD64 (Sun Opteron) OR
  • Intel Itanium (ia64)
  • 40 GB OS Drive, 160 GB in a RAID configuration
  • 1 GB of RAM
Server Software
  • Mithi Connect Server™ XD
  • Fedora Core 3
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS 3 x86 or ES 3 x86 or AS 3 x86_64 or ES 3 x86_64
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux EL 3 x86, x86_64 or ia64
Client Software
  • Windows PC (98 upwards) for using Indian language features.
  • Any desktop for using the applications in English.
  • Any SMTP/POP/IMAP compatible desktop email client like Outlook Express.
Client Server Connectivity
  • PCs Connected over LAN to Mithi Connect Server™ when used as email gateway.
  • PCs Connected over Internet to Mithi Connect Server™ when used as Internet email server.
Internet Connectivity for using as an Internet email server
  • Permanent (DSL/Leased line..) Internet connection with static IP address.
  • 2 NIC cards on the server.
  • Alternatively host the server at an IDC (Internet Data Center)
Internet Connectivity for using as an email gateway
  • Dial-up Internet connection or
  • Dial-up modem (Linux compliant) or
  • ISDN or
  • Cable Modem or
  • Permanent Internet connection (DSL/Leased line ...)
The configuration given above is for this situation viz. 250 users with total of around 1000 mails a day. Depending on the load the configuration may need to be reworked.
