Module	Description
POP Access	Connect Xf Email Server integrates a POP server which allows users to download their mail from the server to the desktop using POP email clients such as Thunderbird, MS Outlook and Outlook Express. The POP protocol is a lightweight protocol allowing a larger number of users to be hosted on a single server. Connect Xf Email Server can also be configured for secure POP access.
IMAP Access	IMAP is an alternate way to access mailboxes on the server. When desktop clients are configured with the IMAP protocol, the mails remain on the server and can be accessed from desktop email or webmail clients. IMAP protocol can be used to access Mail from several different folders on the server. Most of the clients support caching allowing offline access of the email messages Connect Xf Email Server can also be configured for secure IMAP access.
Webmail Access More details on Baya Webmail client	Webmail access can help you get down the license and management costs, as the license for the desktop email clients and the costs of configuring and maintaining the same on desktops of every users are eliminated. Baya, a lightweight Webmail client provides an integrated view and helps to easily manage all the applications in Connect Xf. For mail access the Webmail client uses the IMAP protocol to access mails on the server.
Aliases	Single mail boxes can be accessed from more than one email IDs called aliases. Users can receive mail on any of the aliases. Users can login to their mailboxes using any of the aliases (This is especially useful when renaming users)
Forward to alternate email ID	If allowed, users can configure the server to forward mail to alternate email IDs. This can be useful in case the user has more than one email IDs in use.

Duplicate mail control	The duplicate mail control property can check and eliminate duplicate mail coming to users.
Mail filters	Based on matched conditions, server based mail filters allow incoming mail to be: Moved to different folders Copied to different folders Forwarded to other email IDs Forwarded as SMS, etc. These filters are applicable whether the user uses desktop email or webmail clients
Quota	Quota allows the administrators to control the amount of space used on the server by individual users. The quota can be different for individual users. Users get quota alerts indicating the amount of space used up. On quota overflow, either sending or receiving can be blocked to trigger an urgent clean-up of the space allocated on the server (recommended block sending).
Vacation Reply	Users can set vacation replies

Mailing groups	Administrators can create any number of mailing groups for a domain. Mails can be sent to mailing group IDs and are automatically delivered to all the members of the mailing groups.

Security

Module	Description
Firewall	Connect Xf Email Server has a built-in firewall which is preconfigured for maximal security, allowing traffic only from the ports required for mailing.
Authentication	All of the applications of Connect Xf have authenticated access and the users have to provide user name (in the form of the email ID) and password.
Channel security using SSL	The secure protocols (POP3S, IMAPS, SMTP over TLS, HTTPS etc.), ensure that packets are not sniffed during transmission. Administrators can choose to allow both secure / unsecured protocols or enforce only secure access
Anti Virus Support More about Virus Control in Connect Xf Email Server	Built-in Anti-virus controls ensures that all SMTP traffic flowing through the servers is checked for virus. Infected mail are quarantined on the server. The virus signatures are automatically updated. For any domain, all the quarantined mail can be viewed by the administrator of the domain
Anti Spam Support More about Spam Detection and Control \| View Demo	Connect Xf Email Server incorporates reputation and content based technologies to control spam on incoming channels, giving more than 99% spam detection accuracy. Reputation based technologies used are Greylist, RBL, Blacklists & Whitelists The content based technologies are implemented using Spam Assassin, which scans the contents of the mail for objectionable words etc and filters the mail to a spam folder. The spam management features based on the spam reports help users manage their blacklists, white list and also minimize the problems related to false positives (mail wrongly marked as spam)
Mail Policy More on Mail Policy Security Framework \| View Demo	Mail policies are used to control mail flow exchange between the users / groups and domains. These make the system more secure as they guard against misuse of the system. For example, one policy could be to disallow outgoing mail to Gmail or disallow outgoing mail with an attachment.
Authorization	Not all users may be authorized to use all applications. For example, you might want to restrict the access to the SMS service to few users. Applications such as the domain administration and server administration are also not accessible to all users.

Access Control More on Mailbox Access Methods \| View Demo	Access to mail boxes can be restricted for access from the office network only. For example, you might want certain users to be able to access their mailboxes using any access method (POP, IMAP, HTTP) from anywhere. For others you might not want to allow them POP, IMAP access from anywhere etc. These configurations are done using access control.
Password Policies View Demo	Password policies such as password expiry, password complexity and password length can be used to prevent unauthorized access to mail boxes.
Secure Logout from Webmail client	Session time out and auto cleaning of web mail pages on logout ensure that multiple users using a shared PC cannot access each others mail boxes.
Role based Administration	Only authorized administrators can access the consoles used to manage and configure the servers and domains. The pre-defined roles for server administrations areas follows -Server manager: One who manages the services and resources on the server -Domain managers: usually, there is one domain manager per domain, who manages the domain parameters such as users / groups / mail policies etc. Additional roles restricting the operations can be defined.

Send SMS from your email account	Send SMS using the webmail mail or desktop email client. The content of the SMS can include subject, mail body, sender mobile number and sender email address

Module	Description
Personal Calendars	Personal and group calendaring including scheduling can be done via Baya Webmail client. Using CalDAV desktop email clients (such as Thunderbird with Lightning plugin, users can see a fully synchronized view of their personal and subscribed events between their desktop and the webmail client.)
Calendar Sharing	Full CalDAV access control is available allowing the sharing of calendars and calendar entities based on authentication status and identity.
Event Calendars	Users may subscribe to calendars to which they have access
Using Calendar via Webmail client	Single sign on for access to the calendar using Baya Webmail client.
Using Calendar from Desktop email client support CalDAV	Connect Xf Email Server integrates a CalDAV server and can be used with any CalDAV capable client such as Mozilla Lightning, Apple's iCal, Evolution, and others.
Schedule meetings etc.	Scheduling - Store and manage events, appointments, tasks and meetings. Support for scheduling of meetings including invitations and their response is available. Free/Busy is supported and the busy time is displayed as attendee lists are built. Access control allows users to determine who may attempt to schedule meetings with them. Automatic responses to meeting requests are an option which can be used to enable simple resource scheduling by, for example, 'inviting' a resource to a meeting.

Address Book

Module	Description
Personal Address Books	Baya Webmail client provides users a personal address books that they can maintain on the server. This address book is accessible from the Webmail client or the Desktop email client (using the LDAP interface or Desktop Address Book (DAB) add-on)
Corporate Directory with details of all users on the hosted domain	Users can see the details of all users and groups in their domain. This address book is accessible from Baya Webmail client or from Desktop email clients
Global Address Book (GAB)	The administrators of a domain can maintain a list of shared contacts which should be accessible to all users of the domain. This address book is accessible from Baya Webmail client of from Desktop email clients
Share address books between hosted domains	The administrator can configure the Global Address Book to show addresses of the other domains hosted on the server
View address books from external LDAP directories	The server can be configured to sync contacts from external directories into the Global Address books
Access to all address books via the webmail client	All address books are visible in Baya Webmail client. The addresses can be accessed for email, SMS and calendar.
Access to Personal Address Book, Global Address book and corporate directory via LDAP interface of desktop email clients	The address book can be accessed from desktop clients using the LDAP interface.
Offline access to Global Address book and corporate directory (Outlook / Outlook Express)	Connect Xf Email Server has developed an Address book add-on connector for Outlook, Outlook Express and other popular desktop email clients. It performs the task of downloading addresses from the Corporate Directory and the Global Address Book and makes it available in a format native to Outlook, Outlook Express. The main advantage of this feature is that it enables users to maintain an up to date address book on the server which is automatically synchronized with the address book on the desktop. It also enables offline access to the address book.

Solution Configuration Options

Module	Description
Mail Gateway to an ISP server	Connect Xf Email Server uses Fetchmail to download mail from an ISP server using POP protocol. This allows Connect Xf to be deployed as a mail gateway server for the local network. Connect Xf Email Server can also be configured to accept mail from an ISP who can PUSH mail using SMTP tunnelling. When configured as a mail gateway Connect Xf can also serve as the mail server for the local network.
Internet Email Gateway (Relay Server)	The built-in email security framework comprising of firewall, anti-spam, mail policies and antivirus features allows Connect Xf Email Server to be deployed as a secure Internet email gateway for your domain. As an Internet mail gateway, it can receive and deliver mail from and to external domains. Incoming mails are cleaned of unwanted messages and passed onto the mail server.
Internet Mail Server	For certain domains, a single server acts as an Internet mail gateway (relay server) and also hosts the mailboxes for the users. Commonly referred to as the Internet mail server. The mail boxes on this server can be accessed via Webmail mail or Desktop email clients
Branch Server	Connect Xf Email Server can be deployed to host mail boxes for a remote office or branch. The branch server then acts as the mail gateway connecting to the central mail server when exchanging mail with the external network, while it functions as the mail server for the local network at the branch. The users at the branch access their mail boxes over the LAN and internal communication is also restricted to the LAN saving precious bandwidth.
Mail Archival Server	The mail archival module integrated with Connect Xf Email Server allows it to be deployed as a standalone mail archival.
Enterprise replication between Connect Xf Email Servers	Connect Xf can also be used to implement a distributed setup, in which a central servers act as email hub to which several remote/branch servers may be connected. The replication engine of Connect Xf Email Server enables central administration of the domains and ensures that data is synchronized across all the servers in the network.
Enterprise Integration with applications such as directory servers, ERP servers etc	Connect Xf Email Server can be easily integrated with other elements of the enterprise IT infrastructure such as: -Security devices -Directory servers -Application servers such as CRM, ERP and HRMS etc.
Co-existence with proprietary email solutions such as MS-Exchange / Lotus Domino	Connect Server can be deployed to co-exist with proprietary email solutions such as Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Notes etc. In such a setup, although the mailboxes of a single mailing domain may be distributed amongst different servers, the entire address book is available to users across both the systems The mail routing between the different systems is automatic.
